In May of 1977, my wife Kathy and I established the first home of That Taco Place in the village of LeRoy, NY.
It was a good place to get started, as we had no prior experience in the food business. Our customer base quickly outgrew our location.
I was a 4th Grade teacher and Kathy was a nurse. Seven months later, (January 8th 1978), we opened at our present location, 4160 West Main Street, Batavia NY, our home for over 30 years now.
We were introduced to Mexican food while visiting some friends in California.
Virginia, our friend's neighbor, spent many afternoons making lunch and showing us the many mouth-watering dishes that can be made with simple variety of ingredients.
Our menu today still reflects the simple principle that Virginia taught us:
Keep it simple and consistent.
31 years later, we have a customer base that spreads around the country, even internationally. When people come to town for a visit or return home from a trip, a visit to That Taco Place is a must.
The best comment that we like to hear is "It's just like I remembered it!"
Come join us for That Taco Place Experience.
